PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Friday passed resolution to condemn the petition of the opposition leader National Assembly, Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan regarding the appointment of Syed Deedar Hussein Shah and resolved that his discriminatory attitude is damaging for the inter-provincial harmony and is a threat to the democratic process.

The joint resolution was presented by the parliamentary leader of PPP, Abdul Akbar Khan and Senior Minister ANP, Bashir Ahmad Bilour. The resolution said the assembly also pay tribute to Syed Deedar Hussein Shah for his services as Chief Justice of Sindh High Court and Judge of the Supreme Court of Pakistan, which it say also evident that the party chief of the MNA concerned Mian Nawaz Sharif has also endorsed the integrity of Syed Deedar Hussein Shah as judge.

The senior parliamentarian earlier through a point of order requested Speaker Kiramatullah Khan, who was presiding the proceeding of the house to suspend rules and allow him to present the resolution. The speaker sought the view of the house and majority supported the plea of the suspension of rules to allow the presentation of the resolution. The parliamentary leader of PPP, Abdul Akbar Khan and Senior Minister, Bashir Ahmad Bilour read their identical resolutions and the house passed it with majority as only three members uttered to oppose it.
