KARACHI: Bollywood actor Salman Khan has been ordered by the Mumbai Metropolitan Court to appear for a hearing in the 2002 hit-and-run case on December 27, which happens to be his birthday, reported the Indian media.

Salman Khan had allegedly run over a few people while driving his car at night in 2002. He killed one roadside dweller and injured four others in Mumbai’s Bandra area.

However, later the actor denied that he wasn’t behind the wheels when his Toyota Land Cruiser ran the pedestrians over.

According to sources, recently a lawyer cum activist Abha Singh filed a complaint that claims that the cops had faked the evidences and documents related to the case in order to delay the trial.

The objection also declares that police submitted false information about the medical officers as well.

However, the court has asked the cops who were involved in the case to show their presence for the hearing along with Salman.
