imageISLAMABAD: Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila on Monday emphasized that despite host of internal and external challenges being faced by the nation, Pakistan Navy is well equipped, highly motivated and fully capable to defend the Maritime Frontiers of Pakistan.

Addressing the officers of 43rd PN Staff Course at Pakistan Navy War College in Lahore on National Security Challenges to Pakistan, he reiterated that Pakistan could not remain oblivious of evolving regional maritime environment.

"We are a peace loving nation and our maritime interests have to be safeguarded. We continue to collaborate with Global and regional navies to counter piracy and terrorism and this is evident from our participation in CTF-150 and 151," he added.

He said holding of multi-national Exercises such as the AMAN series is another testimony to our commitment towards peace and stability in this region. In view of the emerging developments, we are consolidating our maritime force potential across the conflict spectrum.

Advising the officers to maintain their focus on professional pursuits, the Admiral said that solution to security challenges lies in identification of root causes of security threats and maintenance of operational readiness to seek permanent solution of the problem.

On arrival Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Mohammad Asif Sandila was received by Rear Admiral Abdul Aleem, the Commandant, Pakistan Navy War College at Lahore.

It is worth mentioning that Pakistan Navy War College in addition to its primary task of grooming future leadership of Armed Forces of Pakistan and Allied countries is also playing an important role in developing maritime awareness amongst the people, especially academia of Punjab.
