One of the biggest video chat service Skype is now giving access to its users to send money to anyone around the globe.

Partnering with PayPal, users can send money with just a single tap. According to Skype, the users now would not have to switch between the video chat app and the banking app in order to send money.

In order to use the service, the users would just have to swipe right while chatting, select the ‘Find’ option and then tap the ‘Send Money’ icon. Type the amount, confirm the payment and hit send, and the transaction would be completed, reported Tech Crunch.

But, in order to make use of the service, the users would have to update the Skype application to the latest version for both iOS and Android; otherwise, the new feature won’t be accessible. However, on the other end of the app, for person who is receiving the money can use any version of Skype.

Skype would require the user to confirm the location of the sender. Furthermore, if either the sender or receiver does not have a PayPal account, the app will automatically direct the receiver or the sender to a link so that both of them could make a PayPal account.

However, the update is only designed for sending money between family and friends not for the payment of goods or services.

The Skype team wrote, “Currency exchange is no problem. If you’re sending funds from the US, for example, to someone in Europe, you will have the option to send money in Euros.”

The new update is initially available in 22 countries including US, UK, Austria, Belgium, and Canada etc. However, the firm has yet not verified if the feature would be launched in Asia, informs Tech Juice.
