“Be less Selfie, be more Bothie” – Nokia
Ever wanted your phone to be able to take pictures from the front and rear cameras at the same time? Well looks like Nokia 8 has the solution for that which they call as ‘bothies’.
Finnish phone manufacturer HMD Global announced its latest smartphone Nokia 8 on Wednesday that contains one unusual feature named as ‘Dual-Sight’. The feature permits the user to shoot pictures using the front and the rear-facing cameras simultaneously. The result is a split-screen view. The company calls the resulted images as ‘bothies’ – a selfie but with both sides.
“There are two sides to every story and the Dual-Sight feature of Nokia 8 is designed to help you create and share the full picture,” says Nokia, which created the slogan, “Be less Selfie, be more Bothie.”
Apart from the unique new feature, the phone contains similar properties like other phones such as a strong chipset, sharp display, dual cameras and other similar features, reported Business Insider.
There is also a ‘Live’ option at the top corner of the screen that allows the Dual-Sight mode to stream both the ‘bothies’ to Facebook or YouTube directly from the phone’s camera application. Though Samsung and LG have already practiced a similar feature of double-cameras, it’s the live streaming mode that distinguishes Nokia 8 from other phones.
Other specs of the phone include a fingerprint scanner-home button combo, OZO high-dynamic range audio recording allowing the user to shoot 4K high-quality videos, 13MP front camera and slightly curved edges. Having a 5.3-inch screen, the phone runs on Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB memory, super-bright display and a pixel density of 559.
The phone will be available in four unique colors: Polished Blue, Tempered Blue, Steel and Polished Copper making it more attractive. It is expected that the phone will roll out by September.
According to Mashable, HMD CEO Pekka Rantala expressed, “It’s a phone for everyone, but focused on the next generations — millennials and creators — who are sharing every day their life great moments and experiences.”
