Huawei has stepped up its game and is giving tough competition to the other smartphone brands, either through its mocking ads or by the everyday latest advancements in its devices. This time Huawei has claimed that it can do a better job when compared to Apple’s Face ID feature.

While giving a presentation of Honor V10, Huawei representatives shared a slight preview of its depth-sensing camera system that combines infrared rays and a projector, but it captures 300,000 data points – 10 times greater than the data points captured through iPhone X’s Face ID. The company believes that its facial recognition technology is much better than iPhone X’s.

Huawei topples Apple and Samsung in camera quality battle

Similar to iPhone X, the data set produces a 3D model of the person with the detailed information. However, the time required for the model creation is 10 second, which is a bit too much. Huawei asserted that with such strong precision, the system is secure for mobile payments and is supposed to function nearly as fast as Huawei’s fingerprint sensors, reported Digital Trends.

The company also demonstrated Apple’s Animoji replica, the only difference being that along with tracking the usual facial expressions, Huawei’s Animoji can detect when a person is sticking his tongue out, reported Engadget.

Though Huawei gave a glimpse of the upcoming technology, it is not yet confirm about which smartphone the technology would be a part of.
