A vice president of intelligence at a research firm CB Insights, Marcelo Ballvé informed CNN that this service will benefit Facebook to invade LinkedIn, the Microsoft-owned social media site that already controls the service. “This could be a threat to LinkedIn if a generation of folks gets their first jobs through Facebook and begins to identify the platform as the go-to labor marketplace.”

Facebook said that the site can be great for networking and finding openings during the job search. However, since users share their personal data on the app, Facebook warns to keep the private life separate from their professional one so that their profile can be suitable for potential employers.

On its site, Facebook asked to protect the privacy settings such as putting privacy on their photos, videos and status updates. Next, the site warned that the information shared on any site can be copied or redistributed in way the users do not intend thus, the users to be aware of their digital footprint as it might affect the job searches.

“Local businesses strengthen our communities and create more than 60% of new jobs. We want to help people find those jobs and help local businesses hire the right people,” said Alex Himel, vice president of local at Facebook.
