Huawei turns aggressive against Apple, Samsung after US ban
Huawei is all set to release its flagship phones next week and the marketing strategy adopted by the company is trolling its competitors.
The company’s upcoming phones Huawei P20 Lite, P20 and P20 Pro are due next week and the Chinese smartphone maker has launched an aggressive marketing campaign in markets like the UK, since the US market has shut Huawei out.
The tech company has parked trucks equipped with promotional billboards to major cities including London, particularly targeting locations close to an Apple or Samsung store, The Inquirer reports.
Huawei is also spraying pavement outside the stores with street graffiti. The advertisement features the upcoming camera of the P20 Pro and the P20.
The Chinese tech giant is the world’s third largest smartphone manufacturer after Apple and Samsung and has a fair market share in all the major markets of Europe, Asia and Middle-East. But according to Tech Juice, Huawei is not able to rule in the US market after various security and intelligence agencies warned the US citizens from buying phones from Huawei. Concerns were raised that the company would use their technology to spy on the US officials.
As a result, US smartphone carrier AT&T backed off from signing a deal with Huawei earlier this year. Also, America’s biggest online retailer of electronics Best Buy stopped ordering new phones from Huawei, which made it even harder for the Chinese tech company to expand its business in the US.
Even though some details about Huawei’s P20 series has leaked like the triple rear camera and super slow-mo, people will know more about them when Huawei releases the phones next week in Paris.
