There have been many cases where technology has saved lives of people. Apple’s smartwatch, Apple Watch, too has helped saved lives previously and yet again, it saved a 32-year-old in New York.

William Monzidelis would have died from an erupted ulcer if it wasn’t for Apple Watch. The smartwatch alerted him of his alarming heart rate resulting in saving him from dying, with Monzidelis crediting the technology as a ‘little angel’ watching over him.

The incident took place in early April when Monzidelis felt dizzy while at work. Shortly after, he started bleeding and immediately got an alert from his Apple Watch warning him about his alarming heart rate and recommended him to instantly seek medical attention, as reported by Apple Insider.

He was then rushed to the hospital by his mother and while on his way, Monzidelis continued bleeding from mouth and rectum and loss in consciousness. This resulted in him losing 80% of his blood that lead to him receiving a blood transfusion to undergo surgery. At the hospital, Monzidelis was diagnosed of an erupted ulcer.

The doctors credited Apple Watch for the entire incident and for saving Monzidelis’ life. They admitted that if it weren’t for Apple Watch, Monzidelis would have ignored the symptoms and would have died. Monzidelis too while crediting the smartwatch said, “I would have been working in my office and they would have found me dead.”

As per NBC New York, with his story, Monzidelis wishes that people who are doubtful about the technology might embrace it. “Hopefully my story can push them to use technology. In my case, it was like a little angel watching me. It really was a magical device.”

This is not the first time Apple Watch has saved someone. Previously it alerted users of potentially dying symptoms. On May 1, a day before Monzidelis’ incident was reported, Apple Watch was credited for saving a life of an 18-year-old girl in Florida who suffered from undiagnosed kidney disease, which also received attention from CEO Tim Cook.

Similarly, last year, a woman used the smartwatch’s Emergency SOS feature to contact first responders after a drunk driver hit her car.
