A new kind of bug has been detected in the popular messaging app WhatsApp, where blocked contacts are able to send messages to the contact that blocked them.

The social media messaging app WhatsApp is facing yet another bug where different users have reported to get messages from contacts that they have blocked. Along with letting the blocked contacts to message users, the bug also allows them to view their display picture and status.

The bug has affected both Android and iOS users, which indicates that the issue is in WhatsApp’s server. Many users took to the micro-blogging site Twitter to express their issues.

Moreover, according to Express.co, WhatsApp has acknowledged the bug saying, “We are aware of the issue and are rolling out a fix.”

However, for now, users can follow certain steps to fix the bug. In order to fix the bug, the user would have to unblock the contact that sent a message and block them again, explained Independent.
