LG Display has unveiled prototypes of its new rollable and transparent 77-inch OLED display for the first time.

LG Display showed off its 77-inch transparent flexible OLED display at the Society for Informational Display (SID) 2018 conference held at Los Angeles.

Having a resolution of 3840 x 2160, the Ultra HD display has 40% transmittance and can be curved into a circle with 80mm radius without any negative effects on its functionality, reported Digital Trends.

The Korean giant also revealed its Quad HD displays, 12.3-inch, 16.2-inch and 14.3-inch in size, which will be used in automobiles for replacing analog clusters, providing entertainment for the passenger and serve as a center information display that will have embedded touch support, as per Android Headlines.

LG also showed off its 55-inch and 65-inch UHD Crystal Sound OLED displays that can emit sound by themselves directly from the panel. This technology was first shown earlier this year at the CES 2018. However, LG has not confirmed as to when these displays will roll out.

“LG Display is proud to have a pioneering role in the 50-year history of LCD innovations by introducing world-first and world-best technologies such as IPS. We will continue to create innovations in the display industry by establishing a new display paradigm with OLED technology and opening another revolutionary chapter of display history,” said LG Display executive vice president and chief technology officer, In-Byeong Kang.
