Users can now group video call and browse on Instagram

Instagram has been on fire lately by introducing back-to-back new features and this time around the picture sharing app is bringing the ability to group video calls while browsing.

The social media app has rolled out a new feature for both iOS and Android users, where they can group video calls with up to four friends through Instagram Direct.

The users can also multitask along with the video call, without the need of ending it. They can minimize the call window and browse through their feed and explore section while a small window of the call plays by the corner end of the screen.

Snapchat’s new update will let you add 16 people to group video chat

As per Tech Crunch, users can invite friends to join the call already in progress and if a user wishes not to get call invites, they can just simply mute the feature. The call can be made my going in the direct message and hitting the video button in a chat, and obviously, blocked users cannot call each other.

Moreover, Instagram is not the only app to introduce group video calls. Popular messaging app WhatsApp too reportedly introduced the feature in its beta Android version, whereas Snapchat also integrated a feature where users can add up to 16 people in a group video chat.
