FIA arrests ex-CJP Iftikhar Chaudhry's son-in-law in Eden Housing Society scam
Former Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Iftikhar Chaudhry’s son-in-law Murtaza was arrested in Dubai on Wednesday on charges of involvement in Eden Housing Society scam.
While speaking to the media, Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry said that Murtaza was arrested by Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) officials from Dubai. He added that National Accountability Bureau had issued arrest warrants for the former CJP's son-in-law.
The minister added that others involved in the case included Chaudhry's son Arsalan Iftikhar, his daughter and the father-in-law of his daughter. He said that others accused in the case will also be arrested. Chaudhry said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has also sought a report regarding the case within 24 hours.
Last week, people affected by the scam protested outside the Lahore residence of PM Khan appealing him to help them recover their looted money. As many as 11,000 complaints have been received by NAB against the management of Eden Housing Scheme.
