Days after unveiling its prototype foldable phone, tech giant Samsung has announced the successor of its last year’s W2018 flip phone, the W2019, at a launch event held in China.
According to Sam Mobile, the phone comes in with enhanced features as compared to its predecessor. W2019 comes in with dual 4.2-inch internal and external screens, with both them able to support Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.
After much wait, Samsung finally unveils its first ever foldable phone
The phone comes in improved Snapdragon 845 chipset. The phone features 6GB RAM with expandable storage choices of 128GB or 256GB. W2019 comes in with a huge 3,070mAh battery life and side-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The phone features dual 12MP + 12MP rear cameras with numerous features including 2x optical zoom, 4K video shooting, dual-tone LED flash, and Full HD slow-mo video recording. The front camera is an 8MP sensor. W2019 has pre-installed Android 8.1 Oreo, dual-SIM support, and dedicated button of accessing Bixby AI assistant. However, one thing the phone lacks is the headphone jack.
Though Samsung offers exclusive premium services for its W-series phones, it also sells them for a heavy price. Samsung’s W2019 is priced at whopping $2,732 (18,999 Yuan) for the 6GB/128GB variant and will be available in two colors: Rose Gold and Platinum. The phone, however, won’t come to markets other than China or South Korea, reported Gizmo China.
