Mika Singh arrested in Dubai for sexual misconduct

Indian Mika Singh has been arrested by Dubai Police for alleged sexual misconduct. The singer has been accused of sending inappropriate photos to a 17-year-old Brazilian girl. The girl filed a complaint against him for harassing her, he was released late last night.

He will be produced before a UAE court today, Indian ambassador to the UAE Navdeep Singh Suri said. "Our team is at the police station. We are working on it," Mr Suri told news agency ANI.

Mika was in Dubai to perform at Masala awards. After the singer was arrested, several of his friends have been trying to release him from the jail. However Indian Embassy had to intervene in the matter to get him out of the jail.

Mika isn’t new to sexual misconduct and inappropriate behaviour towards women. Last year, he also hit the headlines for supporting rapist Gurmeet Ram Rahim who is now serving his 20-year prison sentence.

Mika was once arrested for slapping a doctor during an event in Delhi in the year 2015. In 2006, Rakhi Sawant filed a case against Mika for forcibly kissing her during her birthday celebrations in Mumbai.
