Pakistan’s new ambassador presents credentials to Donald Trump

Pakistan’s new ambassador to the United States, Dr Asad Majeed Khan, presented his credentials to the US President Donald Trump, in a ceremony held at White House.

According to a press release issued on Saturday by the Pakistan Embassy in Washington, DC, along with presenting his credentials to Trump Ambassador Khan conveyed Prime Minister Imran Khan's greetings to the US president.

Welcoming the president's remarks, the ambassador said that he would work tirelessly to enhance mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries, reads the press release. Trump reciprocated the greetings and expressed his wishes to explore opportunities for the two countries to work closely together. Trump added that he wants the two countries to renew their partnership by working closely.

Ambassador Khan was recently serving as  Pakistan’s ambassador in Tokyo. Khan has replaced Ali Jahangir Siddiqi, who was appointed by the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz government towards the end of its five-year tenure.
