Urmila’s anti-Hindu remarks land her in trouble
Bollywood former actress Urmila Matondkar has recently joined Indian political party Congress to contest upcoming elections in India and already landed herself in trouble for her anti-Hindu remarks while campaigning for the party.
The BJP leader, in a tweet, said, “Cong Candidate from Mumbai, Urmila Matondkar said, ‘the religion which has been known for its tolerance has become the most violent’, this is abuse of Hindus!”.
This comment of hers has left many Indians pissed and they have been slamming the actress left and right. Suresh Nakhua, a Mumbai BJP worker, has filed a police complaint with the Mumbai police claiming the remarks hurt the Hindu community’s sentiments.
The BJP worker also sought actions against Congress president Rahul Gandhi for allegedly instructing Matondkar to make the ‘calumnious comments’ and a senior journalist for letting the actor make the remarks on his news channel and telecasting it.
Urmila has also been trolled on social media after she joined the Congress. However, she put on a brave face and firmly replied back to all the trolls.
“I won't use this stage to cry about how I was trolled. I am confident. They think as I am from Bollywood, I don't have brains. But I am proud to be part of Bollywood," she asserted.
