Peculiar three-eyed snake astonishes people in Australia

Snakes born with two heads have been heard about before, but a snake born with three eyes was unheard of until now, and people can't stop comparing it to the three-eyed raven from Game of Thrones.

A strange and rare carpet python snake with three, full functioning eyes has recently been discovered in Australia by rangers, which quickly grabbed attention from everyone.

Rare two-headed snake found in US state

Nicknamed ‘Monty Python’, the snake had an abnormal additional eye sprouting from the top of its scaled forehead. The X-rays shows that the reptile didn’t have two separate heads forged together, but rather one skull having an additional eye socket, reported Science Alert.

“It was generally agreed that the eye likely developed very early during the embryonic stage of development,” Northern Territory Parks and Wildlife wrote in a post posted on social media site Facebook.

However, the 15-inches long reptile was struggling to eat due to its deformity, as per BBC. “It is extremely unlikely that this is from environmental factors and is almost certainly a natural occurrence as malformed reptiles are relatively common,” read the post.

Despite the superpower of third eye, the snake, which was still very young, died few weeks after being discovered. “It’s remarkable it was able to survive so long in the wild with its deformity, and he was struggling to feed before he died last week,” ranger Ray Chatto told NT News.

People took to Twitter to expresses their excitement, while some even compared it to the famous 'three-eyed raven' from the popular television series 'Game of Thrones'.
