Hamza Shehbaz gets extension in bail till June 11 in corruption cases
The Lahore High Court (LHC) extended on Monday the interim pre-arrest bail of Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shehbaz till June 11.
A two-member bench of the LHC, headed by Judge Muzahir Ali Akbar Naqvi, heard the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz (PML-N) leader's petitions for bail in cases filed against him by National Accountability Bureau (NAB). The PML-N vice president appeared before the high court today, local media reported.
Shehbaz appeared in the Punjab Saaf Pani Company, Ramzan Sugar Mills and money laundering and assets beyond means of known income. After hearing arguments from both sides, Judge Naqvi extended the pre-arrest bail of the opposition leader.
NAB has been investigating Shehbaz in three cases and has tried to arrest the PML-N leader twice. Shehbaz had then approached the LHC after which the high court had restrained NAB from arresting the opposition leader. The LHC had also granted him protective bail.
