Punjab censor board appoints Adeel Hashmi as its new chairman
- Adeel Hashmi replaces Zeba Bakhtiar to become new chairman of Punjab Censor Board.

Pakistani actor/comedian Adeel Hashmi has become the new chairman of Punjab Board of Film Censors (PBFC), replacing veteran actor Zeba Bakhtiar from the position.
Previously there were rumours that veteran actor Ghulam Moihuddin will be appointed the new chairman. Adeel is a multitalented artiste mostly known for his comic roles.
Sharing the news, actor Shamoon Abbasi also congratulated the actor for taking over the reins from veteran film actress. “Welcome brother Adeel Hashmi. May your journey be a successful one on this dignified post,” he wrote.
Earlier, before PBFC was formed, the censor board was presided by politicians and bureaucrats who had no background from the media industry. Now with Adeel on-board, media industry is looking forward for proactive decisions for the growth of Pakistan entertainment industry.
