Pakistani-Canadian author and journalist Tarek Fatah highlighted in his recent tweet Pakistan's polio issue with incorrect information as he misinterpreted a mobile footage from the film ‘Load Wedding’ to be real, which has now caused major uproar on social media.
Actor Mehwish Hayat, who was part of the film, replied to him saying, “Thank you for giving your two cents on this but please first verify the source before posting next time. It’s a scene from my movie Loadwedding, the polio worker is me and that woman is an actress,” she wrote.

Although through his tweet Fatah tried to highlight lack of awareness about polio among Pakistanis, but his long history of spewing hate and spreading fake news about Pakistan is often in the news.
Twitterites are also bashing him for spreading fake news about polio drive in Pakistan.
