After the ban on public transport was lifted during the lockdown in Sindh, public transport was resumed in Karachi on Wednesday.
Public transport has been restored in the cities of Sindh from today while vehicles of different routes are plying on the roads of Karachi.
The practice of following the instructions of transporters to wear masks is not being witnessed while passengers are also seen traveling without masks. Sindh Transport Minister Avais Shah has warned that vehicles that do not have masks and chest teasers will be stopped.
It may be recalled that the Sindh government had yesterday allowed intra-city public transport and online ride-hailing services to resume operation from tomorrow with strict standard operating procedures (SOPs).
As per the SOPs, the transporters will not be allowed to board extra passengers, while it will be compulsory to wear masks and clean hands with sanitizers.
All the buses will run from designated stations and only two people will be allowed to sit in a ride-hailing service. However, in case of emergency, three passengers will be allowed to sit.
