KARACHI: Interior Minister Rehman Malik has thanked Muttahdia Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain's decision to not join the Minhaj-ul-Quran chief Tahir-ul-Qadri's Long March, the media reported on Friday.
The interior minister thanked the Altaf about his decision to stay away from the Long March.
On Thursday, Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain said that the party will join the Long March.
In his telephonic address from London at the Lal Qila here, Altaf Hussain said, "We will take part in the Long March."
The announcement of Altaf Hussain's political drone had come at a time when pressure is mounting on all political parties with Tahirul Qadri’s Long March just round the corner.
Party members and workers were urged to prepare themselves for the political drone strike and its after effects.
What the drone attack will bring was anybody's guess. It was being speculated that the party may part ways with the government, the MQM chief could return to the country for contempt of court case against him, which was dismissed after his representatives tendered an apology, or they may stay away from assemblies.
MQM leaders were asked to not divulge what Altaf Hussain's political drone might be as they did not want to lose the element of surprise.
The MQM chief said that no one would be able to respond to the political drone attack.
