Plea against Metro Bus System project dismissed
LAHORE: Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Friday dismissed a petition against Metro Bus System Project.
The matter was fixed before chief justice as an objection case because the Registrar's office had put an objection that the petition was not maintainable as the petitioner was not a aggrieved person.
The chief justice after hearing the arguments sustained objection and dismissed the petition.
The petition was filed by Mulazim Hussain Malik submitting that the respondents including Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif and others were causing harm to public exchequer.
He submitted that billions of rupees were being spent on metro bus system project and others against the national interest.
He contended that a motorway could be constructed through funds being spent on Metro Bus System. He pleaded the court to take notice of the situation and a strict action be ordered against the respondents.
