ISLAMABAD: Secretary Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Ishtiaq Ahmed Khan on Friday said that ECP has fully committed to conduct free fair and transparent elections in the country.
Talking to a private television channel,he said that ECP would prefer to appoint the neutral,impartial and transparent people on elections relating matter and duties.
Secretary ECP said that election commission has fully prepared to conduct in time elections and to ensure the transparency in the polls.
Replying to a question,he said that state interest should be supreme for government officers,according to the guideline and vision of our Founder Quaid-e- Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
He said that ECP would take constitutional action against the officials,who would involve in irregularities and damaging the election process.
Ishtiaq said that chief election commissioner(ECP) Fakruddin G.Ibrahim has fully committed to ensure free and fair election in all the provinces of the country.
Replying to another question,he said that chief election commissioner has ensured the transparency in provincial election to dissident Baloch leaders and addressing their reservations about elections.
He added that the election commission would also visit Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Sindh and Punjab provinces and to devise security plan for the elections.
The secretary said a cell has been set up in the election commission for scrutiny of the nomination papers.
