KARACHI: Senator Saeed Ghani Friday vowed to help in solving the problems of Pakistan Hearld Workers Union including the implementation of 7th Wage Board Award.
He made these remarks while speaking at the oath-taking ceremony of Pakistan Herald Workers Union held at Haroon House premises here.
Senator Ghani said he was fully aware of the problems being faced by journalists and media workers.
"Being a former trade union leader myself, I know its difficult to fight for the rights of the workers", he said.
He asked the union office-bearers to give all their problems which he would take up with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah.
President of the Union, Rishad Mahmood said members of the union were their power and they would continue to get their due rights and work for the welfare of workers.
He requested Senator Saeed Ghani in securing the land from the Sindh Government for establishing a Pakistan Hearld Co-operative Housing Society for workers.
Speaking on the occasion, Secretary Shafiuddin Ashraf said they would continue their missions at all forums to secure due rights of its members and get 7th Wage Award may be implemented as announced by the government.
Senator Saeed Ghani also administered the oath on all the elected members of the Pakistan Hearld Workers Union.
A number of trade union leaders from different organizations also spoke on the occasion.
