LAHORE: Provincial government has decided to observe Anti-dengue Day on July 27 throughout the province.
In this connection, necessary instructions have been issued to all DCOs to take necessary steps for observing the day in their respective districts.
A spokesman of Health Department said here Thursday that all the concerned officers had been asked to ensure cleanliness and elimination of breeding sites of dengue larvae at all public buildings of their concerned departments. People will also be motivated for cleanliness and elimination of dengue breeding sites in their homes and in private buildings.
District governments will ensure cleanliness and elimination of outdoor breeding sites in the districts with particular emphasis on industrial areas, tyre-shops, graveyards, bus-stands, junkyards etc.
On the Anti-dengue day, seminars and walks will also be organized for public awareness and banners pertaining precautionary measures for safety from dengue would also be displayed at prominent places and roads.
The pamphlets would also be distributed among the masses whereas district administration would arrange messages on local cable network. Health staff will visit door-to-door for health education.
DCOs have been asked to visit hospitals for the inspection of dengue counters, isolation wards, high dependency units, availability of diagnostic and treatment facilities for dengue patients.
