ISLAMABAD: Former Test Cricketer Sarfraz Nawaz Wednesday, while hailing the national U19 team's Tri-Nation triumph, Wednesday said that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) should organize more tours of junior players in order to groom them for future.
Pakistan beat hosts England in the final of the Tri-Nation Tournament by 192 runs. The third team to feature in the tournament was Bangladesh.
Talking to APP, Sarfraz Nawaz said if the PCB restricts the junior and A teams only to domestic cricket, is not enough for their grooming.
"If more tours of U19 and A teams are organized then it would certainly help in development of cricketers," he said.
"Similarly if more opportunities are provided to the youngsters then we won't be having problems in getting good players in the senior team in future," he added.
Sarfraz who was brimming with joy for Captain Sami Aslam hitting a ton in the final, said beating the English team at their home grounds was a treat to watch.
"Youngsters will better themselves if they see them getting a chance in the senior team on performance basis," he said.
The former pacer said our young players are talented enough to be included in the senior side when needed.
