ISLAMABAD: Renowned analyst Professor Dr. Ghulam Mustafa has described the visit of President Hamid Karzai as very significant, saying that President Karzai has supported Pakistan's stance on the process of dialogue through Afghan High Peace Council.
Talking to Radio Pakistan, he added that Pakistan has also conveyed its concerns regarding its national interests to the government of Afghanistan.
He said the visit of Afghan President Hamid Karzai to Pakistan as significant, because of the three issues, including the situation in Afghanistan after withdrawal of NATO forces from the country in 2014, the role of non-state actors in Pak-Afghan relations, the confidence building measures between the two countries.
He stated that India has also strategic goals in Afghanistan and tries to influence Pak-Afghan relations.
Dr. Ghulam Mustafa opined that the current visit of President Karzai will bring positive change in the minds of people and government of Afghanistan towards Pakistan.
Talking about Islamabad's stance on Afghan issue, Dr. Ghulam Mustafa said Pakistan knew that the issue can be resolved by the Afghan people.
He pointed out that Afghanistan has economic and strategic importance as it is a corridor to the energy rich Central Asian Republics and Pakistan wanted a stable Afghanistan to benefit from the energy resources of CARs.
