MIANWALI/MEHMOOD KOT: Major General Sanaullah Khan Niazi, who lost his life in an IED blast in Upper Dir was laid to rest in his home town of Mianwali on Monday with full military honours.
The martyred General was buried in Daud Khel area of the city where his funeral prayers were offered by a large number of people who had gathered from all around.
Niazi along with his Lt. Colonel Tauseef and Lance Naik Irfan Sattar were killed when they were returning from a visit to the Pakistan Army's front posts along the Pak-Afghan border on Sunday morning.
The Tehreek-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) claimed responsibility for the high profile murder of the two-star general.
Major General Sanaullah was General Officer Commanding (GOC) Swat whereas Lt. Col. Touseef was Commanding Officer 33 Baloch Regiment.
Lt Col Tauseef was also laid to rest at his home town and his burial was attended by hundreds of relatives, friends and people of the area.
The solider Irfan Sattar was laid to rest with military honour in Mehmoodkot on Monday.
Hundreds of people including family members, relatives, army officials and dwellers of the area attended the funeral prayers of Lance Naik Irfan Sattar held here at Mehmoodkot area of Muzaffargarh.
The deceased was later laid to rest at ancestral graveyard with complete military honour.
Speaking on the occasion, the family members of the martyred soldier said that they were proud of Irfan who sacrificed his life for country and a noble cause. They also paid rich tribute to other martyrs of the Pak Army and urged the soldiers to keep their morale up.
