ISLAMABAD: Former Selector and Test Batsman Mohsin Hassan Khan said Junaid Khan was the best bowler of the national team but not being utilized properly by the team management.
Talking to APP on Wednesday, he said the left-arm medium fast bowler was either dropped every now and then from the team or brought at later stages of the game which could affect his bowling.
Mohsin said Junaid should be in the team in every match as he was the only bowler who can perform well in every format and at any stage.
"Whether it is bowling long spells in Test matches or short spells in ODIs, he always bowls with a big heart," the former test cricketer added.
He also lauded Ahmad Shehzad saying that the right-handed opener was best batsman of the national side, however, he was not utilizing his talent to maximum.
He advised Pakistan to play with a positive frame of mind against Sri Lanka which will be a tougher opposition provided the conditions at UAE.
"Body language of the players will matter a lot which was not quite good against Afghanistan," Mohsin said.
He said he was not satisfy with the performance of the national team against minnows like Afghanistan, as Pakistan should have won the match with a huge margin.
"Killing instinct was missing in Pak boys against Afghans which should be there against the Islanders," the former selector said, adding, "We need to rectify our mistakes."
Pakistan had won the lone T20 match against Afghanistan the other day on the last ball of the last over chasing a total of 137 runs.
