KARACHI: Misbah-ul-Haq cannot be displaced as the Pakistan captain after just one bad series, former chief selector Iqbal Qasim said on Monday.
"Misbah has been doing well for a couple of years as a batsman and captain and it would be injustice to talk of new captain now ," he told reporters at Karachi Gymkhana.
He advocated for giving Misbah some time before he string of good scores to his credit.
Replying to a question about Misbah's defensive approach, he said he got his own style off leading and playing.
He said new Chairman of Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Shaharyar M.Khan is very experience and composed person and will take decision accordingly.
There was talk about change in captaincy after Misbah's team suffered a 2-0 loss in Test series and went down 2-1 in the One-day series after having won the first ODI.
Commenting on the appointment of new captain of Pakistan Twenty20, he said there are large number of candidates. But PCB Chairman is the final authority.
He said there are number of candidates from which you appoint a new captain of needed.
