‘Slumdog Millionaire’ star Dev Patel and ‘Days of Thunders’ actress Nichole Kidman are set to star in a new series ‘Lion’, a new drama produced by The Weinstein company.
According to foreign media reports, the drama is based on the memoir ‘A Long Way Home’ by Saroo Brierley which follows a street kid from Calcutta (Patel) who has been adopted by a couple in Australia. Oscar-winning actor Dev Patel will be seen as self-taught Indian math genius Srinivasa Ramanujan while Nicole Kidman and Hugh Jackman will play the role of adoptive parents.

Kidman was last seen portraying Princess Grace Kelly in ‘Grace of Monaco’. Her upcoming movies ‘Before I Go to Sleep’ and ‘Paddington’ will hit theatres later this year.
Patel who appears in John Madden’s upcoming ‘The Second Best Marigold Hotel’, the sequel to the 2011 hit will release in the US next year. Patel who starred in Danny Boyle's Oscar-winning film ‘Slumdog Millionaire’ is likely to be one of the major star’s of this year’s market, with roles in ‘The Man Who Knew Infinity’, ‘Child 44’ and ‘The Road Within’.
