Bollywood diva Sonakshi Sinha has pledged to donate her eyes to Haryana based foundation which works towards the eradication of corneal blindness.
According to media reports ‘Dabangg’ star said, “I am extremely proud and humbled to be associated with the foundation’s cause and I also appeal to my fans and friends to pledge to donate their eyes too and give somebody the gift of sight”.
‘Dabbang’ actress has been signed on as the brand ambassador of the ‘Mahindru foundation’ to create awareness on treating curable blindness in India and raising funds for the upcoming Eye Banks.
Director of Mahindru foundation said, “We appreciate Sonakshi efforts to associate with this cause. We are certain that a popular star like Sonakshi supporting the cause will create more awareness about eye donation and encourage many people to come forward and pledge their eyes,” media reported.
Besides Sonakshi Sinha, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Amitabh Bachchan, Jaya Bachchan, R. Madhavan, Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao have also donated their organs to give someone a reason to smile after their death.
‘Dabangg’ actress Sonakshi is busy promoting her upcoming movie ‘Action Jackson’ along with Ajay Devgan. The film is set to release on December 5.
