ISLAMABAD: President Mamnoon Hussain on Wednesday conferred Nishan-i-Imtiaz (military) on Chief of the Indonesian Navy, Admiral Dr. Marsetio, at a ceremony held here at the Aiwan-e-Sadr.
The award has been given to the Indonesian naval chief for his efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries.
President Mamnoon Hussain in a meeting with Admiral Dr. Marsetio appreciated the collaboration between the naval forces of Pakistan and Indonesia and hoped that the cooperation would further strengthen in future.
He said there existed an immense potential in defence cooperation between the two countries.
The President said Pakistan was confronting the challenge of terrorism and mentioned that the country's armed forces and civilians had rendered huge sacrifices in this fight.
He said Pakistan would soon overcome the issue of terrorism.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah, Secretary Defence Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Alam Khattak, Pakistan's ambassador in Indonesia Muhammad Burhan Muhammad and senior officials were present.
