HYDERABAD: Police arrested 2 suspects in injured condition after an encounter in a locality in Qasimabad town and recovered weapons and stolen items from their possession.
The police spokesman Mazhar Shani informed here Friday that the police received complaints of street crimes in Bakhtawar Colony area from the local residents and raided the hideout of the suspects.
As soon as police reached the spot, the suspects opened fire on them and tried to escape, he added.
However, both the suspects, identified as Dilshad Chandio and Amaan Meerani were injured and arrested.
He claimed that both of them were allegedly involved in dozens of crimes of robbery, extortion and waylaying.
Meanwhile, Chalgari police arrested a suspect involved in the murder of his wife and recovered the double barrel gun used in the crime, he informed.
The spokesman said the suspect Ghulam Rasool Otho was arrested from a forest area near the Indus river's embankment.
According to him, the Bhitai Nagar police also arrested 2 suspected street criminals including one in injured condition after an exchange of fire on Jamshoro road.
The injured was identified as Wajid Ali Bhalai and the other one as Sher Mohammed Pathan from whom two pistols and a snatched motorbike were recovered.
Another suspected street criminal, Abdul Razzak Solangi, was arrested by Hatri police along with an unlicensed weapon, he added.
