shahisyedISLAMABAD: President Awami National Party (ANP) Sindh Shahi Syed on Friday said that the situation in Karachi has improved but it did not mean that no improvement is required.

Talking to a private news channel, he said that peace cannot be restored in Karachi until and unless those elements that were responsible for the situation are not taken to task.

Shahi Syed said three major parties in Karachi had given Interior Minister Rehman Malik permission to launch across the board operation in Karachi.

He said that operation should not be taken against any political party but it should be against the criminal elements.

To a question whether the political parties would have any role if the Rangers takes action, Shahi Syed said the political parties agreed to remove banners and flags and wall chalking in recent past.

Syed said if any one attempts to influence the law enforcement agencies for release of any person, they should disclose it to media so that people could know who patronizes terrorism.
