After his latest release ‘Tevar’ failed at the box-office, Bollywood young actor Arjun Kapoor has been approached to play former Indian cricket captain Kapil Dev on-screen, the film based on the 1983 World Cup.
According to Indian media reports, the founder and MD of the Celebrity Cricket League Vishnu Vardhan Induri who is planning the project, has already met the actor with the script. He has also approached actors for essaying the other characters but nothing has been finalized as of now. ‘We will make an official announcement once everything is in place,’ he said.
‘Gunday’ actor Arjun Kapoor is considering the offer and is likely to say yes to it. It is to be mentioned, the 1983 World Cup final was played between India and West Indies in which Kapil Dev played a magical knock, leading India to a historic victory, Indian media reported.
Arjun Kapoor has recently been criticized to take part in a controversial comedy show ‘AIB Knockout Roast’ along with Ranveer Singh as the roast and Karan Johar as the host. The show uploaded on YouTube went viral on the site. The show came in limelight due to the abusive language and obscene content.
