LONDON: The British stock market jumped by more than 2.0 percent in opening trade here on Thursday, after tumbling 3.0 percent the previous day in a fierce global sell-off on heightened eurozone debt concerns.
London's FTSE 100 index of leading companies jumped 2.22 percent to 5,118.29 points in initial deals, mirroring gains elsewhere across Europe.
