Independence Day at KPT Head Office

KARACHI: Like other government departments, the Karachi Port Trust (KPT) has also arranged programmes to celebrate the Independence Day on Sunday.

According to its announcement here on Saturday, Quran Khawani and special prayers will be organized in all KPT Mosques after Fajr Prayers on Sunday. The siren of KPT Head Office and entire vessels in the harbour will sound for two minutes starting at 8:58 am.

The chairperson KPT Mrs. Nasreen Haque will perform the flag hoisting ceremony at KPT head office and inspect the newly dressed squads of Port Security Force, Port Fire Service, Port Civil Defense , Traffic Department, Marine Apprentices and Karachi Sea Scouts will present the Guard of Honor.

The KPT head office and Keamari Boat Basin buildings will remain profusely illuminated during the nights falling between 13th and 14th August. Mrs Nasreen Haque will distribute the best employee of the Year 2010 awards to conclude the proceedings.
