LONDON: Europe's main stock markets slid at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's FTSE 100 index of leading shares down 1.20 percent to 5,267.73 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 index slumped 1.59 percent to 5,854.36 points and in Paris the CAC 40 shed 1.15 percent to 3,216.77.
