DUBAI: Consumer prices in Bahrain fell 1.3 percent on an annual basis in July, the least in five months, and rose 0.6 percent from the previous month helped by a jump in food costs, data from the Central Informatics Organisation showed on Sunday.
Analysts expect prices in the Gulf Arab oil producing kingdom, which was hit by its worst social unrest since the 1990s earlier this year, to rise in 2011, but inflation should stay in low single digits.
The non-OPEC economy is seen growing 2.7 percent in 2011, lower than previously expected due to the revolt, after 4.5 percent in 2010.
