DHABI: Egypt's state grain buyer, the General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC), bought 240,000 tonnes of French, Russian and Romanian wheat in a tender for Dec. 21-31 shipment, it said on Wednesday.
Egypt, one of the world's biggest importers of wheat, bought 120,000 tonnes of French wheat, 60,000 tonnes of Russian wheat and 60,000 tonnes of Romanian wheat, GASC Vice-Chairman Mamdouh Abdel Fattah said.
GASC bought the wheat at an average price of $205.94 a tonne on a cost and freight (C&F) basis, he said.
