Extension in Rangers' powers needs approval from provincial Assembly: Rehman Malik
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Senator and former Interior Minister Abdul Rehman Malik Monday said issue of extension in Rangers' powers in Karachi should be approved from Sindh Assembly.
Talking to media persons outside the Parliament House, he said Sindh government wanted to re-address its previous mistake by bringing the matter of extension in Rangers' powers in provincial Assembly for approval.
He said any province could call force from Federal Government under the constitution but the issue must be approved from concerned provincial Assembly after 60 days.
He said provincial government did not want to send back Rangers engaged in Karachi operation but just wanted to take the approval from the provincial Assembly.
