ISLAMABAD: Batsman Ahmed Shehzad and pacer Wahab Riaz have been fined for breaching the players' code of conduct during the match of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) between Peshawar Zalmis and Quetta Gladiators.
The said incident occurred during the fifth over of Quetta's innings. Opener Ahmed, who had gotten off to a brisk start, hit Wahab for a six off the Peshawar bowler's first delivery.
Wahab responded by bowling Ahmed out with a cleverly disguised slower delivery, sparking wild celebrations. The dismissed Ahmed then gestured towards Wahab with a bat prompting a verbal exchange and a shove before the other on-field players intervened to douse the altercation.
According to reports reaching here, match referee Roshan Mahanama fined Wahab and Ahmed for 40 and 30 per cent of their match fee, respectively for breach of the International Cricket Council (ICC) code of conduct.
