TOKYO: Tokyo stocks jumped 2.25 percent on Friday, led by exporters and financial issues as worries eased over struggling European banks, brokers said.
The benchmark Nikkei 225 index at the Tokyo Stock Exchange closed up 195.30 points at 8,864.16. The broader Topix index of all first-section issues added 16.37 points or, 2.18 percent, to 768.13.
