ISLAMABAD: Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Senator Pervaiz Rashid Wednesday said there had been no mention of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the Panama documents.
Addressing a press conference along with MNAs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry and Daniyal Aziz, he said there had been no mention of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif in the Panama documents and no allegation has been levelled against his family including Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Maryam Nawaz.
"Do the Panama papers mention any immoral and illegal work done by the Hassan Nawaz, Hussain Nawaz and Maryum Nawaz," he questioned.
He said there was not a single word in the Panama papers about any illegality or wrong doing of the Prime Minister, his sons or his daughter.
He said the family of the Prime Minister was clean and that was why Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had announced setting up of a judicial commission.
The minister regretted that Imran Khan levelled baseless allegations against others but had not so far got cleared himself of allegations of corruption in the Shaukat Khanum Hospital and Bani Gala property.
Imran Khan himself invested in offshore companies and he should admit it now rather than levelling allegations against the government, the minister added.
He said people of Pakistan would reject all the baseless allegations of the PTI, by casting vote in favour of the PML-N in the next general election in 2018.
The minister said, "We will knock out PTI in the election 2018 through ballot." By using social media, the minister said, PTI started a wave falsehood and this party is nervous with the passage of time.
The PTI Chief, he said, had been investing in the off-shore companies and Imran must accept this reality and avoid levelling baseless allegations.
"Our hands are clean that is why we are here in front of you to answer your questions," he added.
He said "We are political people and do not believe in levelling baseless allegations."
He said that the whole nation was with PML-N and Nawaz Sharif. The minister said the PML (N) government was successfull in addressing the challenges of terrorism, load-shedding and economic ills.
He said its political opponents were finding themselves politically squeezed because of good performance of the government and were, therefore, resorting to politics of allegations.
He said there was no threat to the government till 2018 and even beyond. He said many mega development projects had been launched by the PML-N government for welfare of the people.
Answering a question, he said the judicial commission had been formed and wrong as well as misleading allegations would be exposed.
He said "We have formed the judicial commission within 24 hours to probe the allegations, if he (Imran) had any proof, he should appear before the commission."
Pervaiz Rashid said that Imran had promised to meet the loss of Shaukat Khanum Hospital by selling his home.
"Will Imran Khan sell his home to meet the loss of Shaukat Khanum Hospital," he questioned.
He said Imran Khan had invested the Shaukat Khanum Hospital's funds in the property business.
The minister said all the allegations, which the PTI Chief, had been levelling against the PML-N were proven wrong.
He said the PML-N had an effective accountability system in the party.
He questioned whether PTI had formed any commission to probe the embezzlement committed in the purchase of trees.
He said the PTI's foreign funding case was still pending in the court, and its chief was hiding behind the stay order.
