LAHORE: Provincial Minister for School Education Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan has said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's speech in the parliament has set the foundation of a Roshan (Brighter) Pakistan while the opposition wanted to drag the country to the darkness.
Talking to APP here on Monday, he said the Prime Minister has laid the foundation of a stronger and a corruption-free Pakistan in his address while the opposition was bent upon harming the country.
To a query, the Provincial Minister said the call for setting up a Parliamentary Committee to formulate a new set of Terms of Reference (TORs) by the treasury and opposition benches is vicotry of democracy and an opportunity to identify and hold accountable all the corrupt.
Responding to another question, he said the Premier had answered at length the speculations by the opposition about Nawaz Sharif's assets.
He admired the fact Prime Minister presented his assets for the perusal of the committee, adding the opposition had nothing to protest now.
Rana Mashhood said the PM's speech called for an end to the politics of allegation and politics of self-interest, adding that it was time to work for the greater and stronger Pakistan.
The Minister said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif's life was an open secret, adding that he has been filing his income-tax returns regularly.
To a question, he said the opposition has no moral ground to level basless allegations against the elected PM of the country.
