Mahfooz-un-Nabi Khan in a statement hoped that President Pervez Musharraf and Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali would declare officially 2004 as the year of Shaheed-e-Millat Liaquat Ali Khan in the same spirit as they had done when the proposal was made by him for declaring 2003 as the year of Madar-e-Millat Fatima Jinnah.
