People in Karachi watched with keen interest the live coverage of the 12th Saarc summit inaugural session and were delighted watching Jamali-Vajpayee meet.
In almost all the major hotels, restaurants and wayside shops, the TV sets were on, showing the telecast of the Saarc session, reports UPP correspondent.
Meanwhile political observers here have given special importance to the bilateral meeting held between Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Jamali and the Indian Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee.
Analysts have seen the Jamali-Vajpayee meeting as a good omen and could lead to a very successful meeting between President Musharraf and Premier Vajpayee tomorrow, as indicated by different sources in Islamabad.
